Permitted testing aids
When reporting for the test, candidates must bring:
- their printed LAT Admission Ticket
- their current photo-bearing identification document
- a blue/black pen and/or pencil
- an eraser, sharpener and clear bottle/glass of water (optional).
Test centres
Clocks are provided in the test room. Candidates may wear an analogue wristwatch, but any alarm or stopwatch features must be switched off.
Valuables such as wallets, keys and mobile phones may be placed under the desk during the test. Mobile phones must be switched off and placed face up under the desk. Mobile phones must not be worn on the body and must not be accessed during the test.
Candidates are advised to bring only essential items, as neither the test centre nor the LAT Office can be held responsible for the security of their belongings. There will be only limited space to store bags and candidates will not be allowed to access their bags until the end of the test.
Remote proctoring
Apart from the permitted items listed above, candidates may have one blank A4 piece of paper for response planning. Candidate's desks must be clear of all other items, including mobile phones.
Candidates can have their mobile phone in the test room, in case the proctor needs to call them (for instance, if they experience technical issues such as internet drop-out during the test session). However, they are not allowed to use their mobile phone in any other circumstances during the test session. No other people, including dependent children or animals (pets) are permitted in the test room (unless candidates have been granted relevant reasonable adjustments, for instance support animals).
All other items, including but not limited to calculators, dictionaries, iPods, iPads, tablets, digital watches, smart watches, smart glasses, pencil cases, rulers, highlighters, audio or recording electronic devices of any kind, are prohibited and their use will be considered an act of misconduct.
Access to food (including sweets and nuts), earplugs, medication or other medical equipment (e.g. support cushion) during the test will only be permitted due to a medical condition and can only be allowed if candidates have been granted relevant reasonable adjustments.
